The BORIKA company produces a huge number of various accessories under the FASTEN brand, which can be used in an inflatable PVC boat.
However, all this hardware is completely useless without proper mounting points on the boat. The core of the FASTEN hardware mounting system on the sides of an inflatable boat is the mounting platform, which is used to install the FASTEN Universal Accessory Lock (FS219), which can then be used to secure any FASTEN accessory.
The 110 x 110 mm mounting plate ( MP224 ) for installing a lock on an inflatable side is suitable for use with virtually any FASTEN device, with the exception of components subject to heavy loads, such as anchor rollers and cleats, oarlocks, and towing parts. For such items, we recommend using the larger, more robust 140 x 140 mm mounting plate ( MP225 ).
We recommend installing the platforms in pairs, spaced 305 mm apart. This installation will allow for the future use of accessories that require two-point mounting.
Installing the platform itself will take you no more than 30 minutes. The most important thing is to choose the right location on the boat's buoyancy tube so that the installed part is not only conveniently located but also doesn't interfere with other boat components, such as oars.
To install, attach the stencil (included with the platform) to the side of the wheel, using masking tape or duct tape. Prepare the adhesive, degrease the surfaces, apply the first coat of adhesive to both surfaces, wait 3 to 5 minutes, apply the second coat of adhesive, and wait up to 10 minutes until the adhesive no longer sticks to the finger. Be sure to check that the nuts on the back are in place, as they will not be able to be installed once glued. After this, heat the surfaces with a hair dryer and press them firmly together. Next, we recommend rolling the surface of the platform with a hard, convex object. The platform is ready for use – screw on the lock and install the desired accessory.
